On Monday evening, Seddique Martin’s presentation was educational, hard-hitting and moving. He told us the story of his childhood and painted a graphic picture of apartheid in South Africa and what life was like as a ‘coloured’ . To come through such a childhood and stand before us an outstanding Deputy Principal and first grade rugby coach at Epping Boys High School is a credit to Seddique and his family; it was a privilege to be at this presentation.
“Civilization is but a thin veneer stretched across the passions of the human heart. And civilization doesn't just happen; we have to make it happen.” Bill Moyers.
I like to think that in Epping Rotary in a small way we are doing our best ‘to make it happen’.
